December

A few snaps from the week - party games and Reward Day!

Thank you for your very wonderful Christmas cards and gifts. It's been a real pleasure teaching your children and I will miss them very much. I wish them the best for the rest of the academic year! Have an amazing Christmas and happy new year. Miss Latimer :)

w/c 3rd December

This week in Reception we have been learning about the Nativity story, and why some people celebrate Christmas. We have been talking about the different ways in which some people celebrate, such as decorating trees, giving out presents, and writing Christmas cards. We have also been practising writing a sentence when writing a letter to Father Christmas, thinking about capital letters, full stops and finger spaces! Well done. We have also been estimating using cubes and socks!

We have continued to practise for our Christmas carol performances next week and are very excited about this. They look incredibly sweet in their Christmas attire!

Next week we will be learning about Hanukkah, and why some people celebrate it. We will also be learning about Winter, and the kinds of clothes we wear to keep us warm, and discuss some colder places to live on the Earth!
