We have had a wonderful 'Castles Day' today! We hope your children enjoyed their goody bags of things they made during the morning workshops. We made leather purses and archery finger protectors; scented soap balls; pastry pies; cresset lamps; braids; illuminated letters and parchments written on with quills after making our own ink!
The children learnt how to be archers; shield bearers and pike wielders as they were drilled in the discipline
of medieval castle defence.
This afternoon we had a banquet and the children rehearsed and performed short entertainments of dancing; juggling jesters; jousting; and a play about St. George and the dragon.
So if they have come home exhausted it is no surprise!!
