We have had a wonderful 'Castles Day' today!
This morning the children could choose to make a variety of things in Middlefield Castle. We made leather purses, scented soap balls, pastry pies, candles, braids, illuminated letters and parchments written on with quills after making our own ink!
The children learnt how to be archers, shield bearers and pike wielders as they were drilled in medieval castle defence.
This afternoon we had a banquet and the children rehearsed and performed short entertainments of dancing, juggling jesters, jousting and a play about St. George and the dragon.
We hope they all had a fantastic day and have lots to share with you!
