We have started a new topic in Reception this half term - A Ticket to Ride. Our learning this half term will be based around journeys and transport. We will have a new story each week and have started with Julia Donaldson's 'The Snail and the Whale'. We looked at the vocabulary in this wonderful book and talked about the journey that the snail and the whale took. 

In maths, we will be building on our knowledge of number and will begin to look at numbers to 20 and beyond. This will be done using games, physical resources and pictures to help us. We will also be revisiting shape and patterns.

Our outdoor learning has already been very exciting with the children spotting lots of minibeasts that have started coming out in the warmer weather. We are also keeping a close eye on some of the plants and flowers that we planted before the Easter break.
