Home Learning Projects
The adults in Lower Key Stage 2 have been blown away by the standard of the home learning projects this term. We have really enjoyed hearing about the research the children have undertaken and they have been fantastic teachers, explaining how they have created their projects and teaching us new information.
As part of our Forces and Magnets topic, the children carried out an investigation in to how friction affects a moving object. The children chose different materials to cover their surfaces with, then moved a toy car along it. The children found that the smoother the surface, the less friction was created.
The children enjoyed lunch with crackers and Christmas music today. We also enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch - a big thank you to our fabulous cooks.
After weeks of rehearsal, year 3 performed in their first Middlefield Christmas Extravaganza. They sang beautifully, danced amazingly and every single person gave a fantastic performance. Well done Year 3! 🎄
The children have been practising their division skills. They have used counters to solve division calculations by grouping.
We wish, we wish, we wish the lights on
The Christmas season has started at Middlefield! Year 3 (with the aid of a little Magic dust) helped the rest of the school to wish th Christmas lights on.
Lots of children in year 3 made beautiful Christmas decorations to decorate our tree in the hall. It was obvious the children used lots of creative thinking and worked carefully to create some beautiful decorations.
