Forest School
We started Forest School again this week. It was very muddy due to the rain the day before, so the children certainly got the full Forest School experience. The children chose whether they were in groups or working individually and built a den using sticks, fabric and rope. They then created their own puppet show in the den. As you can see from the pictures, there were some creative ideas used. I am looking forward to the adventures the children are going to have in Forest School in the coming weeks.
Performing and reading
This week we have had great fun practising for the school assembly. The children did an amazing job. I hope you all enjoyed watching it as much as we enjoyed performing it.
It’s been so lovely having parents in to read each Thursday. As you know, reading is very important to us at Middlefield and seeing and hearing their family members read will really encourage the children to do more reading themselves.
In music the children have been busy writing their own music and they performed it in groups, with some children performing as a Chinese dragon. This is in homage to Chinese New Year. The children have been learning how to play the glockenspiel and how to read the pentatonic scale.
