Art
In art, we have been looking at the work of British ceramicist, Clarice Cliff. We looked at how her work uses bright colours and patterns and have tried to replicate some of these on plates of our own.
Computing
In our computing lessons, we are beginning to learn word processing skills. We typed some text from our reading books and practised using the keyboard shortcuts to manipulate this text.
Maths
This week, we have been learning how to add different amounts of money and recognise different values. We used some resources to help us practise adding amounts of money and find change.
Science
In this week's Science lesson, we looked at how some materials can change shape when you squash them, some don't change shape at all and some change shape temporarily. We drew the differences we could see in each material.
Castles Day
Wow, what a fabulous day! We learned all about life in a medieval castle. We got to carry out lots of tasks which people who lived in the castle would have undertaken. We made lamps to light the castle, made our own ink to write letters, created clay gargoyles to frighten away our enemies and lots more! In the afternoon, we had a banquet and put on a show with jousting, jesters, singing, dancing and a play.
English
We have started looking at our new class book, Winter's Child. We read the story and familiarised ourselves with the characters. To make sure we understood the story, we acted it out and recreated the most significant events using freeze frames.
