Grafham Water

Year 4 had a fantastic time at Grafham Water. We went for 3 days and 2 nights and took part in a range of activities: fun boat sailing, canoeing, climbing, archery, mountain biking, orienteering and Jacobs ladder.

We developed our teamwork and communication skills by helping and supporting one another. We also tried activities which we have never done before; it was lots of fun.

In the evenings, we completed the Grafham Challenge (it was very dark) and watched a film.

Red Nose Day

The children were excited to wear their accessories; some fantastic hair and glasses!

Thank you for all contributions in supporting this charity.

Year 4 have begun to design their own character and setting to write their own story. This is based on The Tin Forest and after our visit from the author David Lucas. The children are looking forward to making their own books and illustrating them.

In Maths, the children are learning about measures: capacity, distance and weight. Some key facts to remember are: kilo means thousand, 1000g = 1kg, 1000ml = 1L, 1000m = 1km. With this, we are learning to multiply and divide by 10, 100 and 1000.

We have also introduced TT Rockstars, solving multiplication and division sums to music. The children have their own log in and can do this at home as well.
