Sport Relief

On Friday, Year three took part in some activities to mark Sport Relief. Mrs Beale and Mrs Besant led a fabulous aerobics session, where we all got our heart rats up! We also did a mile walk around the playground, something we’re aiming to do at least twice a week.

Year 3 and 4 had a great morning at Pocket Park. As part of their Guided Reading sessions, they have been learning all about the famous play, A Midsummer Night‘s Dream by Shakespeare. This morning, they had to hunt for the different plants mentioned in this play and they also had to create freeze frames based on different scenes.

In maths, year three have been learning about mass and weight. We have been learning how to read scales in grams and kilograms and convert between the two. We have also been estimating the weight of various objects, weighing them and then comparing their weights.

World Book Day

Some fabulous costumes today to celebrate World Book Day! The whole school read a beautiful book called ‘The Tear Thief’ by former poet laureate, Carol Ann Duffy. We then used the book to inspire us as we wrote a set of instructions to explain how to make th moon shine.
