Art - Today we made clay sculptures of snail shells. First we looked at patterns on snail shells and used these to help us sketch a shell with a pattern. Then we rolled and coiled our clay and added our pattern designs using lolly and cocktail sticks to achieve different effects.
Maths - We are learning to measure. First of all we measured using objects like cubes and our hands. Then we learned to use a ruler and measured in centimetres.
Science - We did an experiment to find out if materials are absorbent or not. We thought about things that are absorbent and why they need to be absorbent - some very interesting discussions about tissues, nappies, socks and loo paper!
English - We are using a different version of Rapunzel to inspire our writing. Here we are describing Rapunzel and the witch.
World Book Day! Here we are in our book day outfits. We did lots of activities on the theme of 'My favourite book'. We also did some special quizzes and listened to different stories.
