Reward Day
Today we enjoyed another wonderful Reward Day. This has been a very unusual term, so it was great to relax and have fun together today to reward the children for all of their hard work. I wish we could throw a Reward Day for parents too, as your support has been invaluable.
We had lots of fun toasting marshmallows for s’mores, climbing trees and building dens. We also enjoyed an Easter egg hunt, made chocolate lollipops and enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate, while watching a film.
English
In our English lessons, we have been using the book ‘The Princess’s Blankets’ to inspire our writing. We used our inference skills to decide what characters in the story may have thought or said. We also wrote descriptions of our own blankets, using figurative language.
Outdoor Learning
In today’s outdoor learning session, we did some mud painting!
PE
In our Thursday PE lessons, we’ve been lucky enough to have some sessions with the Hunts Sport Partnership. We’ve been enjoying taking part in some team-building games and orienteering.
PSHE
On our return to school, we spent a lot of time discussing the changes that have happened over the past few months. We talked about people we miss and why we miss them. Using ideas from illustrator Joey Yu, we created 3D cutouts of the people we have missed over the past few months.
📚 🌍 World Book Day 🌍 📚
To celebrate World Book Day, lots of us dressed up in fabulous costumes and talked about our favourite books. The children wrote stories involving their favourite book characters and thought of alternative endings for some of their favourite stories.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
