In our science lessons we have been studying materials. We have looked at how materials can be changed. Today we had a science challenge. The children worked in small groups of 3 or 4. They were given 8 sheets of A4 paper and sticky tape. The task was to make a bridge which would support a toy car over a gap of 40cm.
Some children cut the paper, some folded and most layered it. Some bridges were successful, and some needed more work!
We finished the lesson by looking at how rolling and twisting the paper would strengthen it.
Great fun! Great learning!
