Christmas preparations have begun!
Children in Need
Thank you for all of your generous donations. This spotty lot have been talking about where some of our donations might go and how they will help children who are not as fortunate as some of us.
in Science, year 3 have been learning about the body. This week we looked at our muscles, how they work and which muscles are used to complete different tasks. We also learned that it takes more muscle power to frown than smile!
A special yellow visitor!
At Middlefield, we were lucky enough to have a very special visit from a very special bear! The one and only Pudsey Bear came to visit us to ask for some help with his song for Children in Need this year. Look out for us on Friday 16th November when the show is televised!
In year three we have been looking at different types of lines, including vertical and horizontal lines. We’ve also been searching for pairs of parallel and perpendicular lines in our classroom environment. We then found different types of lines in 2d shapes and some of us drew and labelled our own shapes.
Four children from year 3 attended a Spelling Bee at Great Staughton Primary Academy. The children worked with some children from year 4 to compete with other schools, spelling words from the year 3 and 4 word list and even some words from the year 5 and 6 word list! The children came a fabulous second place! Well done to Stanley, Eva, Evie and Alfie, who took part.
DLPT Sports Event
Year 3 competed in their first Diamond Learning Partnership Trust sports event at Winhills. Although we didn't win, the children worked brilliantly as a team and came a fantastic second place. The children were all beautifully behaved and lots of adults from other schools commented on the good sportsmanship and manners of the Middlefield children.
Well done year 3!
