Ancient Egypt- Mummification
We have been continuing our topic this week and learning more about Ancient Egypt. We have been learning about mummification and we practised the process by mummifying teddy bears. First we wrapped their heads, then their bodies and their limb, using toilet tissue. We then placed amulets on their bodies to bring them good luck in the afterlife. The children enjoyed this activity and are keen to continue learning about mummification.
Prokick day
On Friday we had prokick day, which involved the children kicking a football in to an inflatable goal to see how fast they could kick it. The children (and teachers) thoroughly enjoyed this. As well as having fun, many of you helped to raise money for the children’s charity, Sports Connections Foundation, which helps inspire children through sport. Thank you for helping us raise money.
Tutankhamun
On Wednesday Mr Smith set up Tutankhamun’s tomb in our classroom so the children could experience crawling through to the tomb and finding out what artefacts were inside. The children practiced their memory and teamwork skills and worked in groups to draw the artefacts they could remember from inside the tomb. They really enjoyed this activity.
