November has already started off as a busy month. Our main theme for the first couple of weeks is ‘Autumn’ and children started by listening to the stories ‘Leaf Man’ and ‘Don’t hog the Hedge’. We talked about Autumn and hibernation and used these discussions to help with our busy learning.
In EYFS, we also took the time to talk about Remembrance Day, focusing on why we spend time to remember. We were really proud of all of the children for completing a one minute silence to help us remember. The children really enjoyed the poppy themed work inside and outside of the classroom.
It was National Nursery Rhyme week this week (15th Nov) so the children have been learning all about different nursery rhymes, including: wind the bobbin up, head shoulders knees and toes, inch winch spider and sleeping bunnies. We had a fancy dress day on Wednesday to help us get into the spirit too. Our busy learning activities this week have all been centred around nursery rhymes and we have loved hearing all of the wonderful singing in class.
