Virtual Friendship Run
Instead of our daily mile, we did a friendship run! We tried to run with lots of different people we don’t usually run with.
Art
In our recent art lessons, we have been using the work of artist Romero Britto to inspire our own art. We composed our art work with simple shapes and used felt tips to make our colours bold and bright.
PSHE
In year 5, we have been learning about self-respect and thinking about our positive attributes. To start with, we wrote positive statements about each other. We found it was much easier to see the positives in other people than ourselves. We then designed a shield to represent our personalities, things we enjoy and things we are proud of.
Rock Star Day
Wow, what an amazing day! The children looked fabulous and we really enjoyed our assembly and workshop with Rock Steady. The children have brought a letter home today, explaining how they can sign up for in-school band lessons. We definitely have some budding rockstars in year 5!
World Mental Health Day
On Sunday 10th October, it was World Mental Health Day. We talked about different types of mental health issues and discussed different ways to take care of our mental well-being. We also talked about what self-esteem means and took some time to think about the things that we’re good at and the things that make us happy.
Readathon
Thank you for sponsoring us in our Read Anywhere Readathon! We read in some very unusual places today - the pond, under our tables, they Year 2 classroom, the trim trail and even the staff room!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
