As the children are becoming more settled in our routines, we have now started to add in further carpet sessions with more adult-led teaching. Each day, the children will have a phonics lesson as well as English and maths sessions. In EYFS we also incorporate as much child-centered learning as possible which means our days can be flexible based on any given learning opportunity at any given time. Of course, the majority of their day is still centered around learning through play ('busy learning').
This month, the children have listened to lots of different stories, have started exploring numbers and have really enjoyed their Woodland Wednesdays. The children are beginning to practise more of their writing skills as well. We have been so impressed with how well they have settled in this first half term. It really is a big transition for them but they have all coped very well and have been a pleasure to teach.
