Welcome to Year 4 Ash Class.
This year, our teacher is Mrs Turner.
The children have settled in well to the new routines and been very eager to share their summer holiday stories.
Our Topic for the Autumn term is The Romans and to get the children immersed into this subject, we have had History Off the Page come into school. We all dressed up as Romans and had a wonderful day learning about what life was like as a Roman. We made oil lamps, created mosaics, wrote with a quill and even created our own wax tablets. In the afternoon, some children were servants, some were dancers, actors, singers while other got to sit at the top table and be entertained. Our feast included bread and cheese, fruit and we drank out of tankards.
The children thoroughly enjoyed their day. If you would like to see some photos, have a look at Year 3's (Holly class) class page.
Art in Year 4
Year 4 worked super hard in their art lesson where they successfully created their own birch tree art. I'm sure you will agree that these turned out beautifully. They paid special attention to the background wash and the effectiveness this would have on the final piece.
Year 4 have been working super hard practising their timestables over the past couple of weeks. We have introduced lots of different ways to help us learn them and the children have made great progress already.
