Year 5 have made a great start to the school year and have been working hard this week on various art projects! On Thursday the children looked at ‘The Armada Portrait’, a painting of Queen Elizabeth I, and drew their own self portraits in this style including items that make them special. On Friday we created some artwork using the Northern Lights for inspiration and created some magnificent artic scenes using chalk!

A note to all Year 5 parents to advise that, this term, we have PE on Tuesdays and dance on Fridays, as such children will need their PE kits throughout the week.

This week Year 5 have been learning about the life cycles and reproduction of plants in science. The children were very excited to make a cutting of our spider plant in order to grow new plants! We are looking forward to seeing the roots start to sprout in the next couple of weeks!Year 5's cuttings of spider plants!

Just a few of our wonderful pieces of art based on the Northern Lights! Year 5 did an amazing job creating the beautiful effect of the lights using coloured chalk and torn pieces of paper! Well done Year 5! Super work!

We have had another great week in Year 5 rounded off by an amazing assembly by Tommy at Rock Steady! We had a rocking time learning about electric instruments and singing along to songs like ‘We Will Rock You’, ‘Eye of the Tiger’ and ‘Shotgun’ by George Ezra!
