Welcome to your first term at Middlefield. We can't wait to start on this journey together. For the first few weeks we will be letting the children settle in and get used to their environment. Most of the day will be spent playing with their friends and choosing the areas that they like to play in. This could be inside or outside, physical play or crafty. During this time the staff will be working hard to get to know your children and establish positive relationships.
Our theme this half term is 'All About Me' which gives us plenty of opportunities to learn more about the children. We will be reading stories like 'Marvellous Me', 'The Colour Monster' and 'Super Duper You' to name just a few. We will be giving the children the opportunity to create self portraits and family trees. There will also be opportunities for messy play and construction play too. We will begin phonics quickly with our first sounds being - SATPIN. Children will also begin maths lessons later on this half term.
So far, the children have settled in really well and are getting to know the school, routines and are making new friends. Take a look at some of our photos below.
Green Day 26th September 2022
The children loved learning about how to look after our planet and took part in lots of activities around a recycling theme. Some children also took part in a toy swap and loved browsing at which new toy to take home.
