Spring Term

Library - Today we visited St Neots library, found out some useful information about the library and selected a book to borrow.

spring-term

Science - Here we are investigating volume. We thought about loud and quiet sounds and how we produced these from the different instruments.

spring-term

British Science Week - All year groups did the same science lesson - What is the best design for a paper aeroplane? We considered real aircraft and a selection of paper aircraft and then made our own designs. The classroom became a runway as we flew our planes!

spring-term

Science - Sound - We used string telephones to show that sound waves travel better through a solid than a gas.

spring-term

World Book Day - Here we are in our amazing costumes. We enjoyed some fun book themed activities alongside our regular lessons.

spring-term

Science - Our new topic is Sound. Today we used our senses to investigate sound and learned that sound is made when something vibrates. We then tried to work out which part of a musical instrument was vibrating.

spring-term

Egyptian Day - We dressed as Ancient Egyptians and spent the day doing a selection of activities including entering Tutankhamun's tomb, creating tomb paintings and making clay amulets.

spring-term

Science - We learned about the water cycle. We created a model of the water cycle in a jar and noted evaporation, condensing and precipitation.

spring-term

RE - As part of our topic - 'What makes some texts scared?' We considered why some worldviews have more than one scripture with a focus on the Buddhist Canon.

spring-term

DT - We have been designing and building pavilions - a temporary structure. Here we are mid build and with our final structures.

spring-term

Science - We are learning about evaporating and condensing. We did an investigation to find out how weather affects evaporation.

spring-term

TT Rockstars - We are part of a week long 'Top of the Rocks' competition starting today. Here we all are trying to add points for our class and working hard on our times tables.

spring-term

History - Our topic is Ancient Egypt. We are learning about the afterlife and the process of mummification. Here we are mummifying tomatoes.

spring-term

Science - We continued our states of matter topic by investigating liquids and gases.

spring-term

PSHE - We had a special session on Friendship delivered by the MHST (Mental Health Support Team).

spring-term

DT - Using sweets and cocktail sticks we created a range of different shaped frame structures.

spring-term

Science - Our new topic is States of Matter. We know there are three states - solids, liquids and gases. Today, we sorted some items and then we tested to discover the properties of solids.
