Spring Term
World Book Day - Here we are in our amazing costumes. We enjoyed some fun book themed activities alongside our regular lessons.
Science - Our new topic is Sound. Today we used our senses to investigate sound and learned that sound is made when something vibrates. We then tried to work out which part of a musical instrument was vibrating.
Egyptian Day - We dressed as Ancient Egyptians and spent the day doing a selection of activities including entering Tutankhamun's tomb, creating tomb paintings and making clay amulets.
Science - We learned about the water cycle. We created a model of the water cycle in a jar and noted evaporation, condensing and precipitation.
RE - As part of our topic - 'What makes some texts scared?' We considered why some worldviews have more than one scripture with a focus on the Buddhist Canon.
DT - We have been designing and building pavilions - a temporary structure. Here we are mid build and with our final structures.
Science - We are learning about evaporating and condensing. We did an investigation to find out how weather affects evaporation.
TT Rockstars - We are part of a week long 'Top of the Rocks' competition starting today. Here we all are trying to add points for our class and working hard on our times tables.
History - Our topic is Ancient Egypt. We are learning about the afterlife and the process of mummification. Here we are mummifying tomatoes.
Science - We continued our states of matter topic by investigating liquids and gases.
PSHE - We had a special session on Friendship delivered by the MHST (Mental Health Support Team).
DT - Using sweets and cocktail sticks we created a range of different shaped frame structures.
Science - Our new topic is States of Matter. We know there are three states - solids, liquids and gases. Today, we sorted some items and then we tested to discover the properties of solids.
