Autumn Term
Science - Our new topic is Electricity. Here we are finding out how the battery pushes the electrical charge around a circuit to light the bulb.
French - Our topic is French portraits - we spoke in French to describe hair and eye colour.
Science - Today we were investigating food chains. We played a game where we were lynx and snowshoe hares. It helped us to understand how the numbers of predators and prey can rise and fall.
Music - Our topic is 'Body and tuned percussion' and today we used glockenspiels to create simple tunes.
History - In History we are looking at how children's lives have changed. We are comparing Tudor, Victorian and modern day. Here we are investigating how Lord Shaftesbury helped to make changes for children.
Science - Today we considered dental hygiene. We have set up an 'egg-citing egg-speriment' to find out how different liquids can affect our teeth. We used eggs instead of teeth as the children weren't very keen to donate teeth and we discovered egg shell is made of similar substances to tooth enamel!
We also tested toothbrushes. We were super scientists because we thought of lots of ways we could improve our toothbrush test.
Science - Our first topic is - Digestion and Food.
Today we learned about the human digestive system. We found out the main parts and what they do. We all chewed some bread to think about how it all starts. Then we created a model of the digestive system complete with poo as the end result!
RE - In our first topic we are considering the question - Are all religions equal? Today we discovered and discussed connections between different religions. We were surprised by how many links there are.
