December
December has arrived and that means lots of extra fun in the EYFS classroom. As well as our normal timetabled phonics, maths and literacy lessons, children will also spend lots of time developing their knowledge of the world. We will of course talk about Christmas, how we celebrate it and will spend some time learning about the nativity story. We will also learn about how Christmas and other festivals are celebrated throughout the world. It is a busy term with lots of singing as the children prepare for the Christmas play alongside children in Year 1 and 2. Of course, there will be lots of arts and crafts as well, including making Christmas decorations and card making, winter painting and exploring the outdoors as the weather starts to change.
The children looked great in their Christmas jumpers on Christmas jumper day. Another picture of them in front of the school tree - they loved hanging their own homemade decorations on.
