Art
We have been learning about primary and secondary colours and developing our knowledge of colour mixing. We dampened our pieces of paper and added water to our paints to make it runnier. We then chose two primary colours to paint onto the damp paper and tilted the tray to allow the paint to mix and spread on the surface. We noticed that the colours blended to make secondary colours. We experimented with different colours and then explored mixing two secondary colours.
Maths
We have been working hard at some very tricky maths! We have been using equipment to help us add and subtract 2-digit numbers, including exchanging a ten for 10 ones.
English
We have started our new English text: 'Winter's Child' by Angela McAllister with incredible illustrations by Grahame Bake Smith. After reading the story, we recapped the significant events and created freeze frames to represent them. In the following lesson, we sequenced photographs of our freeze frames and wrote descriptive captions to explain each event.
