Good morning, After much deliberation, we feel it would be safer to hold Sports Day next Tuesday as it forecasts rain in the morning. If your child usually has PE tomorrow please come in PE kit, otherwise the children wear school uniform as normal. Many thanks Best Wishes Carol

Red Nose Day - Friday 19th March 2021
Tue 16 Mar 2021The world needs a life-changing laugh now more than ever. That’s why we're getting involved in the Red Nose Day fun on 19th March 2021. We would like as many students and staff to join in the fun by wearing something wacky and red. This can be anything from red socks (odd ones obviously!) to crazy red hair. If you would like to join in, we would appreciate a donation to Comic Relief via this JustGiving page. We understand that times are very hard at the moment, but a donation of between 50p and £1.00 per person taking part, should hopefully raise about £200. Who knows, this money could end up going to one of the many charities in our area that have helped out our families in need, from food donations to laptop provision! We hope you will join us and have some fun, let's see how many smiles we can raise :)
Thank you—Mrs Ashcroft.

Return Update 24/06/20
Wed 24 Jun 2020Dear Parents and Carers
You will be aware that there have been a variety of announcements by the government including about children returning to school in September, reducing social distancing to 1m+ and catch up for children falling behind. A number of you, quite understandably, have questions about these things. Unfortunately, we are not currently in a position to answer these questions. We are awaiting further information and guidance from the government. Please be assured that, as soon as we have received and digested this, we will in turn be able to provide further information to you.
Best wishes

Virtual School Diamond Online
Tue 09 Jun 2020Dear Parents and Carers
Virtual School
We are aware that a number of parents experienced difficulties with the virtual school yesterday.
We are also aware thar Years 1 & 2 experienced significant glitches yesterday on their learning pages. We can only apologise for this. Please be assured that the DLPT technical support team have worked tirelessly to rectify this situation and we are hopeful that everything is now working as it should be.
The virtual school aims to to provide a high-quality learning experience for all pupils. We are sorry that this may not have happened for Years 1& 2 on launch day.
The DLPT virtual school is a separate entity to Middlefield Primary Academy, run by a team of staff who are not currently school based. Therefore, Middlefield school staff are unable to respond to queries about the virtual school.
If you have any queries or issues, please email feedback@diamondonline.uk
Best wishes

Thu 28 May 2020Dear Parents/Carers of children who have indicated that they would like to return to school
Please find attached a letter below from our CEO Susannah Connell, regarding the planned reopening of schools on Monday.
May I please request that you do not email the school with individual questions. I am sorry but we do not have the capacity to respond to these. We will be writing to you again tomorrow with final details about reopening.
Best wishes

28th May 2020
Dear Parents/Carers of children who have indicated that they would like to return to school,
I am writing to let you know how much we are looking forward to welcoming your children back to school. The Trust Board will be meeting on Friday morning, to make a final decision regarding the opening of schools on June 1st. This decision, along with additional information about classes, school routines and arrival and pick up times will be communicated to you by your Headteacher on Friday afternoon. The arrangements your school has made will ensure it is as safe as possible for everyone.
I know that some of you may also be aware of the speculation about the emergence of some ‘hotspots’ and the admission rates at Hinchingbrooke hospital. Cllr Dr Nik Johnson, who works in the hospital, has clarified the information. The admission rates ARE declining at Hinchingbrooke but not as fast as might have been expected. Given that the rates in the country as a whole will go up and down, as the lockdown rules are being changed, I think that all we can do is to continue to do everything we can to make the school environment as Covid-secure as possible.
The Trust and the Local Authority are keeping this emerging situation under review. We will continue to act on the advice and guidance we receive.
The ultimate decision to send children to school remains one for you, the parents. I want to reassure you that, whatever the statistics about hospital admission, we will do everything we can to welcome your children back with a smile and, of course, to keep them safe. I believe that if everyone follows the rules regarding washing hands frequently and maintaining social distancing, we can look forward to this return with optimism. This includes at school and especially in the wider community.
Yours sincerely,
Susannah Connell - CEO
