For Bonfire Night, we had a wonderful time creating glitter pictures of colourful fireworks using plenty of PVA glue. We also used Numicon blocks to build a city scene lit up by the fireworks in the night sky. We explored mark making in coloured rice using brushes to create firework patterns and played a fun spelling game based on fireworks to help us practise our segmenting and blending skills. To finish, we enjoyed cutting and sticking to make our own bright and sparkly firework rockets.

Remembrance Day
For Remembrance Day, we painted beautiful poppies — red to remember the soldiers and purple to honour the animals — using paintbrushes to create our artwork. Together, we made one large poppy picture for a special display at the front of the school using our handprints, and we also created our own individual poppies using paintbrushes and paper plates.
