Shepreth Wildlife Park trip
What a fantastic trip we had at the wildlife park! We saw donkeys, meerkats, snakes, and even a tiger, along with many more amazing animals. We were fascinated by all the wildlife and had a wonderful time exploring.
Under the sea
Reception have enjoyed learning about life under the sea. We explored a variety of sea creatures in our tuff trays and learned about the different animals that live in oceans and seas around the world.
We were fascinated to discover how big whales are, comparing the size of a whale’s eye to our own. We also enjoyed learning about lighthouses and their important role in helping to keep ships safe at sea.
Mathematics
We have enjoyed Mathematics this term by exploring how to add numbers together to make sums. We have used a range of practical resources, games and activities to develop our counting skills and build confidence when solving simple addition problems. We have also practised recognising numbers, counting accurately and explaining our mathematical thinking.
More recently, we have been exploring doubles. One of our favourite activities was designing butterfly wings on our whiteboards and using counters to create matching patterns on each wing, helping us to visualise and understand doubles in a fun and creative way.
Sports Day
Sports Day was such a fun event for both children and parents! We loved getting involved in the bat and bean bag races, tackling the obstacle courses, and taking part in the long running race. It was wonderful to cheer each other on, share lots of laughs, and enjoy some friendly competition together.
