Understanding the world
We enjoyed our first Geography lesson where we learned about the difference between the city and the countryside. We talked about how cities have lots of tall buildings, busy roads, shops and houses close together, while the countryside has fields, farms, trees and lots of wildlife such as birds, rabbits and foxes.
After our discussion, we got creative by making pictures through cutting and sticking. We carefully chose and arranged materials to create our own city and countryside scenes. We also used train tracks and large wooden bricks to build our own cities, working together to create huge churches, houses and other impressive buildings.
Understanding of the world
We turned into little scientists and explored which objects sink and float! We discussed why some objects floated, thinking about how light they were and what materials they were made from. We made predictions, tested our ideas, and shared our observations during this fun hands-on investigation.
