April
Summer term is here and we have started a new topic called 'Ticket to Ride.' Our books this half term will have some links to travel and transport. We have started the term with a look at space and have enjoyed reading 'The Way Back Home' and 'Bob, the Man on the Moon.' The children have enjoyed learning about rocket ships and about space and have asked some brilliant questions. Of course, we have also completed some space-themed projects including making crafty aliens, space pastel art and earth painting.
In maths, we are beginning to look at numbers past 10. The children have been learning that teen numbers are made up of a ten and ones. We have been using ten frames and numicon to help us with our learning.
The outdoor area is also blooming brilliantly. The children have been busy looking after the flowers and plants that they planted earlier on in the year; they have also harvested our radishes and got to have a taste of them. We also had to say goodbye to the butterflies that we have been looking after. It was fun to watch them fly away.
