Sports day
History off the page
We had so much fun learning about what a coronation is and what it would have been like for queen Elizabeths coronation day in 1953. Everyone looked fantastic. In the morning we looked at all the museum items. After break we had a chance to make lots of coronation themed items. After lunch we had a special coronation themed party where the royal family got to enjoy some entertainment put on by the other children.
P.E
In P.E we have been practicing our multi sports which should help us in readiness for sports day. We have practiced TEAM player activities, hurdles, javelin throwing, jumping and sprinting.
DT making a puppet
In DT we are preparing to make some hand puppets. We experimented with different ways we could piece 2 bits of fabric together. We tried it with glue, staples and safety pins. We found the safety pins quite tricky but they help to hold them together while we cut and stick using another method.
Science
We sometimes have to get inventive with our school work when the weather has been as terrible as it has. Our task for science was to learn about how big the trunks are of small, medium and large trees. We were unable to get outside so we made an indoor version and the children had to hunt for their trees. We then made a comparison of by laying all the string out on the carpet.
Playground maintenance
Some of the children asked Miss Jarvis if we could have some tools so that we could look after our playground and carry out some weeding. They have done a great job!
