November 2024
Maths: using our redistribution skills and number composition we challenged each other to a game of squares with compliments to 100.
Science: on pyjama day at Middlefield, the children investigated magnetic and non-magnetic items. Working scientifically they grouped the magnetic and non-magnetic material together.
Road Safety Week: the children had a visit from Lynch to celebrate Road Safety Week. As well as sitting in some of the vehicles, the children learnt all about the blind spots and hazards of vehicles and how to cross the road safely.

DT: practising sewing skills for making a cushion.

French: creating pictures using shapes in the style of Henri Matisse. The children used their conversational skills to ask their partner for shapes from a selection in order to create a picture of an animal for their partner to guess!

Remembrance Day Art: in this lesson we discussed what is peace and how it is symbolised. We looked at ‘The Dove’ by Pablo Picasso and created our own ‘Dove of Peace’.

Geography: Why do people live near volcanoes?

Bikeability!
