Welcome to Year 3

Art: observational botanical drawing. Inspired by the scientific drawings of Charles Darwin and Carl Linnaeus the children drew plants from different angles applying their learning about shading, texture and looking for shapes in the object.
Maths Fluency: applying their learning about greater than and less than in a game of dominoes.

Science: leaning all about muscles and movement. The children were experimenting with muscles tricks where pressure then release makes your arms feel like they are floating.

History: we started our learning on the Stone Age by learning when prehistoric man lived. We used toilet rolls to show the timeline going back 900,000 years!
Maths: in Maths this week we have been learning to represent numbers to 1000.

Science: we have begun our science learning by learning about the human skeleton in ‘Movement and Nutrition’. To understand about the role of the skeleton and what it looks like, the children built their own skeleton with split pins!
