Spring term
Maths
A practical maths lesson outside to find out about perimeter. We really enjoyed drawing and measuring the shapes with chalk.
DT
For our DT project this term we designed and made slingshot cars.
Roman shields
Here we are making Roman formations with our own Roman shields. We also marched around the school.
Forest School
We have started doing Forest School with Miss Jarvis. We really enjoy these sessions as we can explore the outside area and learn about how to safely take risks.
PE
We are learning a fantastic dance in our PE lessons. We need to remember various dance moves and count the beat. Some of the terms of our dance are Canon (where we all do the same movements but one after the other) and Unison (where we are all doing the same move together)
PE (outside)
During our outside PE lesson, we are refreshing our netball skills with Mr Franco. We are currently concentrating on our footwork and passing skills.
Music
In our music lesson we are exploring changes in pitch, tempo and dynamics. Our theme is Rivers : The Percussive River. We have explored texture and pace using our bodies, voices and instruments. Did you know that a repeating pattern is called an Ostinato? In pop music it would be called a riff and in dance music it is a loop.
RE
In our RE lessons this term we are discussing what makes some texts sacred. We have looked at Buddhist, Hindu and Sikh religious texts. The class have discussed whether some of the information in the texts is authoritative or remembered and why it is important to respect all religions and beliefs.
