June
This half term our topic is ‘At the Seaside’ where we will be using stories and books with a seaside theme to enhance our learning. We have started by reading ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’ and so far the children are learning to create their own lighthouses and create lighthouse-inspired art. We have also talked about why lighthouses are used and how they can often look different to the traditional red and white lighthouse.
In maths, we are continuing to learn about sharing and grouping. Alongside this, we have revisited odd and even numbers, and doubling numbers. Later in the term the children will explore mapping and positional language. The children are also working hard on their number formation in readiness for Year 1 which they are really enjoying.
Hamerton Zoo Trip
We had such a good time at the zoo. We saw lots of different animals, played in the park and rode the zoo train. The children were an absolute delight and said it was “The best day ever!”
Sports Day
The children had an amazing time at sports day. They all tried there absolute hardest and took part with great big smiles on their faces. Thank you for coming along to support them - it means the world to them.
